Welcome to MJG Body Art. I hope you enjoy the images and artwork posted here inside my site.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. Even through the years I spent in denial trying to create a life for myself through other means. The easiest path I found to create art and make a living was actually photography. I have been a professional photographer now for over 13 years and it is still something I am very passionate about. I still continue to work as a photographer, and I have been mentoring and teaching others for at least the last five years or so. It has been to say the least very fun and fulfilling for me.
Along the way I have been lucky enough the work of some of the very best body painters this life has to offer us. While working for the lighting manufacturer that sponsors me, we hired in one of the best painters in the industry, Pashur. He came in, painted our model, and sent me down another road that I didn’t see coming. From that moment I was bitten, and I know that body painting was a skill that I needed to learn. I wanted to be able to create living breathing art, and be in full control of my creative vision. It’s one thing to be able to describe to an artist what you want or what you are expecting, but it’s another to be able to see it, draw it, paint it, photograph it, and build your vision into complete existence.
I started body painting for my own creative works, and have slowly evolved to creating works for others. I now include working as a street vendor, and do paintings for crowds at festivals, rallies, and shows., all the way down to private parties. I also can be hired to do a personal art piece just for you. And if you need both photography and painting done for your party I can set up for both. I can set up indoor or outdoor, I just need access to water and electric.
The paint that I use is actually good for your skin! Imagine a skin lotion that has been heavily pigmented with color! It is hypoallergenic, and non toxic, so it is completely safe to use on the body. Unlike craft or house paint, that I have seen many “non body painters” use. Remember: “Friends don’t let friend’s wear craft paint!” I use a few different brands, but probably my favorite is a hybrid paint that is even able to go under water!!! It can then be removed by applying liquid soap to the dry skin, lather up well and let it activate. Then jump in the shower and wash it off like normal. It is very durable but don’t worry it will come off!
